Job Description

The controls technician works in conjunction with the machine technician team to troubleshoot various failures through root cause analysis. They perform repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment as needed. They repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand and power tools, until they are validated and put back into operation. They diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control problems and determine how to correct them, reviewing blueprints, repair manuals, parts catalogs as needed, and PLC programs as required. They document failure logs based on the analysis performed, as well as the solutions, as evidence for future reference.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering
• Basic English proficiency, able to interpret equipment faults, operating manuals, and electrical diagrams
• At least five years of experience as a Controls Maintenance Technician
• Strong knowledge of machines, tools, and mechanisms
• Ability to interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams
• Extensive experience in electrical controls (relays, sensors, encoders, LVDTs, etc.)
• Extensive knowledge and experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley and Siemens) in troubleshooting and modifications
• Knowledge and experience with HMI screens
• Knowledge of electric motors, variable frequency drives, and servomotors

• Experience in failure analysis to identify root causes and propose solutions
• Availability to work weekends as required
• Leadership skills, self-directed, and a sense of urgency
• Proficiency in Excel and SAP (preferred)
